Juan Navarro, CMX Partnerships Director and Principal Researcher
Navarro is a researcher, educator, entrepreneur and strategic leader with vast experience in business, economics, finance, international trade, and higher education. As a researcher, Navarro has completed analytic reports and delivered presentations for leading organizations, research centers and universities. He has presented his analyses and delivered presentations in international forums to business leaders and senior officials and has shared the stage alongside distinguished experts, leaders and scholars in different international forums. Navarro has promoted international business and has served as an associate faculty member at prestigious business schools since 2003, where he has been teaching finance and business courses. He has organized successful business meetings and trade missions to visit Canada on several occasions. Navarro is an active community builder in business and non-for-profit organizations encouraging business and economic development, a member of the Canadian International Council since 2013, the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce and on the advisory board of the Free Trade Zone Point with the Vancouver Island Economic Alliance (VIEA).
Navarro is a recognized Business Mentor at Futurpreneur Canada where he was selected as one of the top five finalists for the Vivian Prokop Mirchandani Mentorship Award in 2019 for his dedicated efforts providing guidance to young entrepreneurs. He has been recognized for his contribution assessing entrepreneurial projects as a member of the panel of experts by the World Bank Group. He worked for 10 years as an economist at the Central Bank of Mexico where he conducted extensive economic research on business matters and policy issues. Navarro is the recipient of the Founders’ Award by Royal Roads University (2015) and he was chosen as one of the Top 75 Finalists for the RBC Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Awards for his contribution to Canada (2018 and 2019). Navarro holds two master’s degrees, one in Global Management and another in Finance, a Bachelor of Business Administration, and two diplomas in Economics and Public Finance. In addition, he holds the certification as an International Trade Professional (CITP), the highest level of professional accreditation available to international business professionals in Canada.
Cleveland Henning, CMX Partnerships Business Development Manager
Cleveland is an innovative, entrepreneurial and determined international business professional. He obtained his Master of Global Business from the University of Victoria and his BBA from Bishop’s University. He has solid previous business experience across a range of industries from business consultancy and manufacturing to food processing and aviation.
As Business Development Manager of CMX Partnerships, he plans, organizes and implements high-profile projects in collaboration with clients, partners and stakeholders. He works diligently in planning business-to-business meetings and visits from international delegations but also in opening markets for CMX Partnerships’ new clients.
Cleveland is passionate about creating meaningful connections with all types of entrepreneurs and private and public sector leaders, while delivering results for the benefit of institutions and companies involved.
Cleveland has always found an interest in international trade and global cooperation. Cleveland also loves staying active, cooking, travelling and getting to know other cultures.
